How can coaching Help you?
Many people have read my books dealing with issues of shame, anger, forgiveness, grief and loss, and spiritual abuse and have contacted me about next steps, especially in regard to working through broken relationships. I’ve been able to offer limited help through email, but I could tell that these people needed more in depth and long term support. With online coaching, that’s now possible.
My experience as both a pastor for 30 years, as well as a consultant in an addiction treatment center for 24 years, has prepared me to help you walk through whatever problems you might be facing.
How is Coaching Different from Counseling?
Coaching differs from traditional counseling in that it focuses on what you are currently facing and the next steps you need to take. My books do a good job of looking back at what may have caused a problem in your life. Coaching looks at what you can do about it now and helps you to navigate the potential pitfalls that could add further pain. The role of a coach is not to tell you what to do but rather help you to explore your options and guide you through the process as you take your next steps.
What Can You Expect From a Coaching Session?
You can expect some or all from a coaching session:
you telling your story in a safe, affirming context
helping you clarify truth from error biblically amidst the many voices that try to tell you what to do
offering you next steps to consider in order to receive the healing you need
addressing specific issues like shame, anger, and the loss that come with our life experiences
holding you accountable to moving forward in the healing process
processing the book of mine that relates to your experience
Next Steps
I recommend that you start with a free consult to make sure you are comfortable with me and then follow that with a 30 or 60 minute session. I am happy to coach you on topics outside the scope of my books as well.
Why not schedule a free 15 minute consult right now? Consults are done in person, through video call, or by phone if you prefer.
If you are looking to overcome past hurts that traditional counseling has not helped, my wife, LIsa Diederich, works with people to help them overcome deep seated issues of shame, anger, anxiety, depression, and trauma. When you schedule a meeting, simply note that you’d like to meet with Lisa. Or contact her here.
